APAC Innovator 25: Lydia Lee
“Keep it simple and relevant. Don’t be innovative for innovation’s sake.”
Based in Shangahi, Lee leads Weber Shandwick’s Asia Pacific technology practice and serves as chair of its Emergent China specialty. Her deep expertise and understanding of the Chinese market plays a critical role in helping clients position themselves for success on a global stage. Lee serves as a senior advisor to international clients across sectors and industries, providing strategic communications guidance across a diverse range of initiatives. Her areas of expertise include marketing strategy, cross-cultural communications, branding, positioning, spokesperson training and crisis management.
Lee shared with The Holmes Report that she defines “innovation” as, “Creativity + implementation + courage + good faith + simplicity = positive impact.”
EMEA Innovator 25: Marcus Dyer
“You can’t just embed innovation itself. You have to embed the seeds that lead to innovation.”
Dyer is an expert in utilising mobile and new technologies to solve complex client problems. A mobile specialist and digital leader, Dyer has deep expertise delivering forward-thinking mobile programmes – from custom app development to smart mobile communications strategies. He serves as managing director, Mobile, in Weber Shandwick’s London office and is a principle of Flipside, a Weber Shandwick company.
Dyer told The Holmes Report, “Innovation is the process of moving forward. Changing things so that they are little bit better, a little bit faster, a little bit more fun than when you found them.”
Americas Innovator 25: Patrick Chaupham
“Be nimble, and make things, quickly, iteratively, and see how the masses engage. Rinse, repeat.”
As Executive Vice President, Creative Technology & Innovation, Chaupham has helped Weber Shandwick lead the way on cutting-edge innovation, including creative technology, digital platforms, mobile commerce, paid media and analytics. His work for clients covers a wide range of specialties, including augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence and Chatbots.
He tells The Holmes Report that “innovation” is, “A simple hacking of new or existing platform, technology, process, data, resource or otherwise that produces an unexpected result ultimately changing our fundamental perception of the original, and potentially creating new utility.”
