Weber Shandwick will be hosting a panel session at The Holmes Report’s EMEA In2 Innovation Summit in London this month, looking at the growing influence of PR as brands and organisations tackle the business challenges of the future.
UK & EMEA CEO Colin Byrne will be hosting the session with colleagues from two recently-acquired transformational businesses: Prime, the world’s most Cannes Lions-winning PR agency, and mobile marketing agency Flipside. The group will be joined by special guests Heather Mitchell, Head of global PR, digital engagement and entertainment marketing at Unilever Hair Care, Ben Wood, Director of Agencies, EMEA at Facebook and Johan Seidefors, Marketing Director at leading Swedish media group, Bonnier Broadcasting.
He said: “With the digital revolution, there is growing appreciation of the value of reputation and engagement, and rising concern over declining trust in business and institutions. We can’t count our chickens, though: PR is still a fraction of global marketing spend and most agency business models are still traditional, focusing on time billed on time sheets, while most PR campaigns are still about awareness rather than shifting measurable units of product.
“If PR is to be a real, sustainable partner to CMOs it has to truly embrace business transformation, including the content-to-commerce revolution.”
Weber Shandwick’s panel session, Transform or die: cracking content-to-commerce and other business challenges, is scheduled Tuesday 23 May at The Holmes Report EMEA In2Innovation Summit at the Ham Yard Hotel in London.
